Q: How long will a 20Ah battery last?

A: We have found that our 20Ah battery powering three devices will last a minimum of 22 hours. When powering one device they last approximately 5 days. This may vary depending on how many taps a device receives and if it is being used in colder temperatures.

Q: Can I charge 2 12v batteries with a 24V charger?

A: Yes you can, especially if the two 12v batteries are identical. If they are not, you will need to be careful more regarding the state of charge.

Q: Is it better to charge batteries in series or parallel?

A: Connecting in series increases voltage, but wiring in parallel increases your battery bank capacity. The total voltage doesn't change. This means that two 12V 30Ah batteries in parallel would give you a total capacity of 60 amp hours. Voltage stays at 12 volts.

Q: Can I use a 12 volt inverter on a 24 volt battery?

A: Typically, a 12V inverter cannot be used on a 24V battery as this will damage the 12V inverter. To ensure the safety and longevity of the batteries and inverter, it is recommended that the 12V inverter be used with 12V batteries.
